Liquid Trade Waste Update Seminar (2 days)
It is essential for all local water utility officers involved with trade waste to understand the current requirements of trade waste regulation and to update their skills. Water utilities have an obligation to ensure employee awareness and to provide appropriate training.
Who should attend?
Council trade waste officers, environmental health officers, wastewater engineers, other officers involved with assessment, approvals and/or inspections of trade waste discharges, council administration staff processing sewerage and trade waste bills or development applications.
Topics covered
The seminar provides up to date information on amendments to Liquid Trade Waste Regulation Guidelines and emerging trade waste issues and treatment technologies.
The complete seminar program will be provided following consultation with LWU officers.
Participants will be given with an opportunity to present any trade waste related topic at the seminar. Also, time will be allocated for open forum sessions.
Resulting qualifications
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued by the Department of Planning and Environment to all participants.
What is included?
Seminar notes and handouts, lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea for the two days. Dinner will also be provided on the first day of seminar.
What is not included?
Writing material, calculator, accommodation, other meals not specified and transport to and from the seminar venue.

How to nominate for the course
Complete an online form or download a nomination form (PDF, 368.35 KB) and submit it by email to water.lwutraining@dpie.nsw.gov.au
The department will send confirmation of receipt of your nomination via email within one week. Venue details, the program and a timetable will be sent to all participants approximately four weeks before the seminar. Please provide details of any special dietary needs on nomination.
