Water Treatment - Recognition of Prior Learning Workshop (1 day)

In 2010, the department, through agreement with TAFE NSW, started a program to deliver Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment (Drinking Water). Accordingly, the water treatment operator training courses were amended to suit the requirements of the certificate.

The Recognition of Prior Learning Workshop is intended for those who completed the department's Part 1 and Part 2 water operator training courses before 2010, and would like to be awarded Certificate III.

The workshop includes subjects that were not covered in past courses, as well as providing an update on other subjects, e.g. Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (2011). At the end of the workshop, participants will be required to complete and submit two projects within two months in order to satisfy all the requirements for Certificate III, as per the National Water Training Package. Detailed project templates will be provided at the workshop and ongoing support will be available as required.

The Recognition of Prior Learning Workshop is conducted jointly for both water and wastewater operators within a single common workshop.
