Floodplain management plans under review

Public submissions were sought in relation to the following floodplain management plans:

Northern floodplain management plansĀ 

Barwon Darling Valley Floodplain Management Plan 2017

Public submissions for the Barwon Darling Valley floodplain management plan are now closed.

The review report will be published once finalised.

The Natural Resources Commission recently completed their audit of the plan under Section 44 of the Water Management Act 2000 in 2022. The audit report is pending publication on their website.

The Section 43 review report (including all submissions) will be used in conjunction with the NRC audit findings to inform possible amendments to this floodplain management plan.


Gwydir Valley Floodplain Management Plan 2016

The plan was reviewed under Section 43 of the Water Management Act 2000 in June 2021. The review report is now available.

The Natural Resources Commission completed their audit of the plan under Section 44 of the Water Management Act 2000 in August 2021. The audit report is available on their website.

The Department of Planning and Environment is seeking stakeholder views on proposed amendments to this floodplain management plan. For more information visit Plans on public exhibition. You can have your say by providing feedback to the department from 26 September to 31 October 2022.

Southern floodplain management plan

Public submissions for the 10 southern floodplain management plans are now closed.

The review report is now available.

The Section 43 review report (including all submissions) will be used in conjunction with the NRC audit findings to inform the possible replacement of these floodplain management plans.
