LTAAEL compliance results

Current and archived surface water LTAAEL assessments are provided in the tables below.

Each water sharing plan specifies how LTAAEL compliance is to be assessed. For inland regulated water sharing plans and the Barwon-Darling unregulated plan, two models are required. One model represents the limit and one represents current conditions. The long-term results from both models are compared to assess compliance. For further information on how the limits work, view Extraction limits PDF, 651.95 KB.

There is typically more than one version of each of these models. Read our guidelines for selecting the most appropriate scenario model for LTAAEL compliance

A compliance assessment will be completed yearly for inland regulated and Barwon-Darling unregulated water sharing plans using the best available models. A risk-based strategy will be used to determine the extent and timing of updates to the current conditions models.

In other water sharing plans, LTAAEL compliance assessment will only be enabled when sufficient data becomes available through the non-urban water metering policy. This includes most unregulated and coastal water sharing plans.
