Key drought recovery actions

  1. waterdrop

    Hypoxic blackwater

Latest updates on the potential for and actual blackwater events occurring in spring/summer 2020. Hypoxic (low oxygen) blackwater occurs when organic material breaks down in flood water, leading to a sudden decrease in the oxygen available to fish and other aquatic organisms.

  2. waterdrop

    North-west flows in early 2020

Information on how we managed inflows from widespread rainfall over north-west NSW and southern Queensland during January and March 2020 to meet local and downstream critical water needs. People, towns and industries, as well as animals, vegetation and river systems are receiving the benefits.

  3. waterdrop

    Menindee Lakes/Lower Darling River

Information on flows into Menindee Lakes and operational procedures for re-starting flows into the Lower Darling River.

  4. waterdrop

    Macquarie Marshes

Information on the volumes of water that were needed to meet the critical environmental needs of the Macquarie Marshes before access to tributary flows were allowed in April 2020.

  5. waterdrop

    Peel pipeline rules 2020

Environmental releases under the new Peel pipeline rules 2020.
