Registration of Interest (ROI) Timeline

Stage 1:

2 November 2022
Registration of Interest - OPEN

  • You should read the terms and conditions in the Order.
  • Refer to the Application Guide for information on how to complete the application form.
  • Read the FAQ’s to understand the ROI process.

Stage 2:

2 December 2022
Registration of Interest – CLOSE (5pm)

  • Submit the Registration of Interest application form by post to the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE).
  • It is suggested to Express Post the application so it can be tracked.
  • Late application forms will not be accepted.

Stage 3:

December 2022 to January 2023
Registration of Interest evaluation period

  • An Evaluation Panel reviews all Registration of Interest applications.

Stage 4:

February 2023
Notification period

  • If unsuccessful - Registration of Interest ends.
  • If successful, you can either:
    1. Withdraw your application - Registration of Interest ends; or
    2. Pay the total purchase price to the department within 30 days from the date you are notified. This will allow you to apply for a Water Access Licence.

Note: You will receive a water access licence information pack and application papers after the Registration of Interest process.

Stage 5:

March 2023 – May 2023
Water Access License application

After paying the total purchase price, you have an additional 30 days to submit the new Water Access Licence application form to WaterNSW or the Department of Planning and Environment, including paying applicable fees.

Once the license is approved, you will receive instructions on how to submit the Certificate of Title application.

Note: You will need to submit the 'work approval' application separately. Consult with the Licensing officer about this process.

Stage 6:

March 2023 – November 2023
Certificate of Title application

After the Water Access Licence is approved, you’ll have 6 months to apply for a Certificate of Title with Lands Registry Services.

Note: Water will be credited to your water account once the water entitlement is issued.
