NSW company Zipline Cloud sails to London

Media release | 5 April 2018

Sydney based company Zipline Cloud will launch its innovative email and messaging platform in London this month in partnership with Salesforce and Accenture after achieving rapid growth in the Australian market.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Small Business John Barilaro said Zipline Cloud has received a $100,000 Building Partnerships grant from the NSW Government backed Jobs for NSW to develop and market its product.

“Zipline Cloud is a NSW innovation that has been built from scratch by founder Alex Colvin into a successful company,” Mr Barilaro said.

“Jobs for NSW has been there from the start with Zipline, having earlier provided the company with a $15,000 grant to develop its technology.

“This is a fantastic example of how Jobs for NSW is helping a local technology startup become a high-growth, job-creating business of the future.”

Zipline Cloud CEO and founder Alex Colvin said the company was now adding two staff members a month to cope with the growth of the business.

“Zipline allows companies to communicate with their customers across SMS, email, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Actions are then automated based on the customer’s response.

“We are now in the process of our first Euro push and London is our first port of call,” Mr Colvin said

“We will have resources on the ground there by the end of the year but the core engineering team will always remain in Sydney.

“We have 22 enterprise clients in Australia in all states across the telco, finance, health and construction sectors and are the first solution to provide intelligent communication paths on any Customer Relationship Management platform globally.”

Colvin said the Jobs for NSW support had been extremely helpful in developing Zipline Cloud’s technology and taking it to market.

“The Jobs for NSW support enabled our health services product to commercialise 12 months earlier than scheduled.”
