City deal delivers $5 million kick start for Western Sydney Businesses

Minister for Western Sydney Stuart Ayres today announced a new $5 million Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund to supercharge fast-growing small to medium sized enterprises (SMES) in Western Sydney.

The exciting new initiative is the next component of the City Deal to be released which will see fast-growth SMEs in Western Sydney benefit from a range of financial support products from NSW Government agency, Jobs for NSW.

“The game changing Western Sydney City Deal and the new Aerotropolis will create jobs and improve economic opportunities for all of Western Sydney,” Mr Ayres said.

“Western Sydney is already one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and it’s booming like never before – and the Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund from Jobs for NSW will build on that foundation.”

The $5 million Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund will offer Western Sydney-based businesses Jobs for NSW products that support innovative, fast-growing businesses including loans and loan guarantees.

Penrith City Council Mayor Ross Fowler said the fund will enable the creation of high-value knowledge-based jobs of the future locally in Western Sydney.

“This $5 million fund will allow innovative businesses from across the City Deal Councils to grow and employ more people.

Western Sydney is set to become a new global economic gateway for the region, attracting economic activity, new industries, commercial development and jobs around the Western Sydney Airport and the new $740 million health, research and education precinct at Liverpool Hospital.
