The NSW Government has reappointed Patricia Egan and Matthew McGrath as directors of the Australian Turf Club, Minister for Racing Paul Toole announced today.

The Government has also appointed experienced business leader Craig Meagher to the board of Harness Racing NSW.

“We are fortunate to have retained and attracted such high calibre people to these key roles in the NSW thoroughbred and harness racing industries,” Mr Toole said.

“Ms Egan has been reappointed as an ATC director for four years, with Mr McGrath to serve a new three-year term.

“The reappointments follow an independent selection process and will help keep a good balance of experience and skills on the seven-member ATC board.”

Mr Toole said both candidates bring valuable experience that will help NSW thoroughbred racing continue to thrive and build on the recent successes of The Everest and The Championships.

Ms Egan, who has also been vice-chair on the board since 2016, is Chief Operating Officer of Diabetes NSW and a trustee of the Racing NSW Equine Fund.

Mr McGrath is an experienced business owner and director in the telecommunications industry.

Mr Toole said Mr Meagher, the current CEO of Bicycle NSW, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Harness Racing NSW board.

“Mr Meagher was chosen from a strong field of candidates as part of an independent selection process,” Mr Toole said.

“He brings a wealth of experience and a range of skills to the board, particularly in the areas of commerce and marketing.”
