Have your say on Crown Land Management Regulation until 15 October
Media release | 29 September 2017
The Department of Industry – Crown Lands and Water has extended the deadline for Crown Land managers, tenure holders and the wider community to have their say on the draft Crown Land Management Regulation 2017 until Sunday 15 October.
The consultation period was initially scheduled to finish on 24 September but has been extended to ensure all Crown land users and managers have a chance to submit feedback.
This vital regulation is part of the new, simplified legislation governing Crown land management in NSW and consultation is important to ensure it is fit for purpose.
The draft regulation provides guidelines and rules on the use, management and vesting of Crown land, and covers fees, penalty notice offences and other important administrative matters.
Submissions received by the Department will help inform the development of a quality regulatory framework to support the effective management of the Crown estate.
Along with the draft regulation a Regulatory Impact Statement has been prepared to ensure regulations are necessary, appropriate and proportionate to risk.
Submissions on the draft Crown Land Management Regulation 2017 are open until Sunday 15 October.
To obtain a copy of both the draft regulation and the Regulatory Impact Statement, visit www.crownland.nsw.gov.au or phone the Department of Industry – Crown Lands and Water on 1300 886 235.
