Crown land Community Engagement Strategy - Have Your Say

Media release | 22 November 2017

Crown Land managers, tenure holders and the wider community are being encouraged to have their say on the new Crown land Community Engagement Strategy, Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole said today.

“This strategy will outline the requirements for engagement on licences, leases and sales,” Mr Toole said.

“This strategy is central to improving transparency and communication with the community on Crown land decisions, so it’s important we hear from as many groups and individuals as possible.

“A series of community information sessions have been held in Sydney, Newcastle, Ballina, Wagga Wagga and Dubbo to gain further input from stakeholders.”

The draft Community Engagement Strategy is on public exhibition until Friday 10 December 2017, following a two week extension.

A Guidance and Resources document has been prepared to help Crown land managers comply with the new engagement requirements.
