Status search

A standard price is not available due to the varying nature and complexity of each parcel and the amount of Crown land or Crown roads included in a particular search request. Upon receipt of an application, an assessment will be made as to the cost and an estimate will be provided to the client. Also payment will be required before any status investigation is undertaken by the department.

Public road closure application (council)
The fee represents an advance towards processing costs. Following receipt and assessment of the application the following costs will also be payable where applicable:
  • site investigation
  • survey/plan compilation

  • registration of plan
Additional local council costs will vary and also public authorities fees when easements are required. Note that these costs only relate to the closing of a public road. Further costs and information will be called for as action progresses in relation to the subsequent sale of the land. After the road is closed, the land becomes Crown land and any future dealings with that land is a matter for the department.
