Insurance: are you covered?

Insurance written with Scrabble tiles

Are you aware that CLMs must have adequate insurance cover for the land manager’s property, employees, volunteers and legal liability?

The good news is that the department can help. We can provide eligible CLMs with insurance cover for legal liability, personal accident for voluntary workers, and property.

We provide this insurance cover through the NSW Government’s Treasury Managed Fund (TMF). It’s dependent on the cooperation of land managers and their members, who must make sure that assets and any activities undertaken on reserves comply with the Crown Land Management Act 2016.

High-risk and commercial activities that are not directly related to maintaining and managing Crown reserves are not eligible for TMF insurance cover.

The tables below outline eligibility to access this insurance cover. Land managers that are not eligible for cover through TMF need to obtain insurance at their own cost.

If you have any queries, want to know more about eligibility or cannot obtain insurance independently, please contact the insurance team on (02) 4925 4171 or at insurance.enquiries@crownland.nsw.gov.au
