IPART review of communication tower rents
As recommended by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) in 2013 rental arrangements for telecommunications towers on Crown land will be independently reviewed every five years.
On behalf of the NSW Government (Department of Industry - Lands and Water, Forestry Corporation NSW and the Office of Environment and Heritage) IPART will undertake this review in 2018-19.
Details of the review will be available on the IPART website, where interested parties can register to receive updates.
Please note that the following documents will be made available on IPART’s website for public submission during the review:
- Issues paper outlining the proposed scope, approach and key issues for the review, and
- Draft report outlining IPART’s findings of the review and any recommendations.
IPART’s final report is expected to be presented to government in September 2019. Until the government’s response to the report is finalised, carriers will continue to be charged at current rental rates, adjusted annually in accordance with the Consumer Price Index.
