Environmental assessment

An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was prepared to accompany a State Significant Infrastructure Application, submitted to the Minister for Planning pursuant to Part 5.1, Division 2 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act).

Stakeholders and members of the community were invited to provide feedback during the exhibition of the EIS.

During the public exhibition of the EIS, a total of 10 submissions were received from various stakeholders including:

  • Five regulatory agencies
  • Two organisations
  • Three private stakeholders

There were no objection submissions received for the project.

Planning approvals and permits

Permits and approvals that have been granted for the project include:

A modification request to the Eden Breakwater Wharf Extension State Significant Infrastructure Approval (SSI7734) was submitted to NSW Department of Planning and Environment on 2 July 2018. The modification request was on public display from 13 to 27 July 2018 and a response to submissions (RTS) report was prepared in September 2018. NSW Department of Planning and Environment approved the modification request in November 2018

This is an independent report and can't be changed or modified. It's also a requirement under the Project's state significant infrastructure planning approval that this is published on the website.

Pollution incident response management plan

The Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP) has been prepared in accordance with the requirements described under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act) and the Protection of the Environment Operations (General) Regulation 2009 (POEO (G) Regulation). The PIRMP covers the key actions to minimise the occurrence of a pollution incident and manage any potential environmental harm if one occurs. The PIRMP has been prepared for managing the impact to human health including employees, nearby neighbours and the environment.
