Invest in Western Sydney
The Western Sydney Investment Attraction Office (WSIAO) was established to drive a coordinated approach between the three levels of government—Commonwealth and state governments and local councils—in attracting more domestic and overseas investment into the region.
WSIAO will leverage the Western Sydney Airport, which is expected to generate economic activity, drive economic growth and development opportunity in this thriving region.
Its focus industries will include aerospace and defence, freight and logistics, agribusiness, advanced manufacturing, tourism, health and education.
WSIAO will take advantage of the region’s strengths to attract new business investment. A dynamic, multicultural region, Western Sydney is currently home to almost half of Sydney’s population of 4.7 million.
Supporting economic development in the region will be a Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund valued at $5 million over five years, which will help target investment opportunities.
