Port Kembla projects receive a boost

Fourteen projects in the Port Kembla area have received more than $2 million in funding from the New South Wales Government.

The Port Kembla Community Investment Fund as an ongoing program to support projects that enhance existing and build new community facilities for Port Kembla.

Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Gordon Bradbery, announced the successful round 1 winners which included environmental, public infrastructure and precinct activation projects.

Some of the community projects supported, include landscaping and other upgrades at MM Beach Carpark, two new fitness stations in Gloucester Boulevard, a play space on Allan St and new shade sails at the King George V pool, just to name a few. Find out more about the successful round 1 projects.

Round 2 of the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund will open in March 2017. Funding is available of at least $10,000 up to a maximum of $500,000.
