NSW bodies to grow State's international business

9 December 2011

Two new bodies to help NSW build international business, trade and investment - the NSW Multicultural Business Advisory Panel (MBAP) and NSW Export and Investment Advisory Board (EIAB) - have held their first meetings.

The MBAP is an advisory body to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner and Minister for Citizenship and Communities Victor Dominello on measures to build closer trade and investment ties between NSW and key priority markets by harnessing the value of NSW's multicultural diversity and international diaspora and by advising on specific market opportunities and market actions..

The EIAB is an advisory body to the NSW Minister for Trade and Investment on measures to grow the NSW economy through the attraction of productive foreign investment and regional headquarters, and encourage growth in NSW business activity in overseas markets.

The EIAB will monitor performance across key economic indicators, with a focus on building NSW's international competitiveness.
