Bauxite is the main raw material used in the commercial production of alumina and aluminium metal. Demand for bauxite is growing at a faster rate than the growth in global industrial production.

Australian Bauxite Limited has two exploration/mining projects in NSW: the Inverell Project in northern NSW and the Taralga in southern NSW. Both projects have been considered to contain significant high quality bauxite reserves.
