Defence NSW can help industry by:

  • coordinating relationships between the NSW Government, the Commonwealth, state governments, Defence and industry
  • coordinating the implementation of the strategy in a whole-of-government approach
  • coordinating defence industry development activities across metropolitan and regional NSW.

Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017

Defence NSW is participating in Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017, a world leading defence event that brings together the global defence and security sector to innovate and share knowledge. The event will be held in London from 11 to 15 September 2017.

Team Defence Australia and the Commonwealth Department of Defence are leading a mission to London to participate in this event. Of the 42 Australian Defence businesses exhibiting at DSEI, 12 businesses are headquartered in NSW.

During the event, Defence NSW will engage directly with key EU/UK Defence primes during the four day trade show.

PACIFIC 2017

PACIFIC 2017 provides a significant opportunity to promote NSW as a leading defence state with a particular strength in naval sustainment.

PACIFIC 2017 will focus on the development of regional innovation and collaborative commercial opportunities relevant to Sea, Air and Land Defence.

The conference will bring leading national and international defence decision makers to Sydney and will be an appropriate venue to reaffirm NSW Government support for Commonwealth Defence objectives and a strong defence industry sector. The event is also a vehicle to generate opportunities for NSW businesses and sell the NSW capability to an audience of key decision makers.

Air Affairs Australia

Air Affairs Australia has been established since 1995 and is primarily an Air Operations, Aerial Targets and Engineering based company. It operates a fleet of special mission Learjet and King Air aircraft providing specialised air training support services to Defence and fire intelligence gathering for the National Fire Centre. They have an extensive manufacturing and engineering facility, providing a complete design through to manufacture and certification capability and are the OEM for several products.

Austest Laboratories

AUSTEST LABORATORIES is an INDEPENDENT, product and component testing and certification company offering the most comprehensive and publicly available environmental, electromagnetic compatibility and electrical testing facilities in Australia and NZ. Fully accredited military standard testing includes environmental product and component standards ranging from vibration and shock, drop, temperature and humidity, UV, Ingress Protection for Dust and Water and corrosion, altitude and pressure, through to Electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility radio frequency interference emissions (40GHz) and susceptibility (up to 200V per metre to 18GHz).

Benelec

Benelec is a local SME based in Sydney and Melbourne, specialising in radio frequency (RF) systems. It has comprehensive knowledge and proven expertise in design, manufacture and integration of RF Subsystems. Benelec’s Filter and Antenna range includes C2 and Electronic Warfare products from HF-8GHz for Land and Maritime Platforms. Benelec is also a commercial off the shelf Radio Systems Integrator, focused in P25 Secure Digital Radio as used on Maritime and Land systems.

Virtual Battlespace (VBS3), its signature product, has evolved over the years to a sophisticated open platform affording customers virtual environments for multi-participant training across a wide range of critical areas.

Favcote Pty Ltd

Favcote Pty Ltd provides abrasive blasting and coating applications to internal and external sections of Royal Australia Navy ships and also to marine commercial vessels. Favcote also provides specialised services in the application of epoxy, elastomeric and ultra-light weight flooring compounds throughout all areas of marine vessels. Favcote Pty Ltd are also engaged in the abrasive blasting and treatment of Army components, marine vessel components and the treatment of underwater systems equipment at its facility in south western Sydney.

Mellori Solutions Pty Ltd

For 17 years, Mellori Solutions has provided services in support of the Australian Defence Force Electronic Warfare capability. Mellori’s focus is in four areas; through-air- threat simulation, Electronic Warfare training and planning, EW tactical systems and EW related work in controlled (laboratory-like) environments. As a wholly Australian owned company based in Nowra, NSW with offices in South Australia and London, Mellori offers true sovereign sustainment capability for ADF’s Electronic Warfare.

Phoenix Defence Services Pty Ltd

Phoenix is a specialist provider of site welding, industrial coating and non destructive testing services to Australian Navy, its principal contractors and Australian industry. Phoenix are a quality organisation accredited to ISO 9001 covering welding, fabrication, repairs, NDT and project management as well as removal and application of protective coatings (painting) for the transport infrastructure, Industrial and Marine sectors. Phoenix also offers a variety of inspection services to its clients. It has highly trained and certified staff working at its accredited NATA laboratory and are able to undertake inspection activities on your behalf.
