University of Wollongong subsidiary wins at Premier’s NSW Export Awards

The University of Wollongong is celebrating after its export subsidiary took out the Education and Training award at the Premier’s NSW Export Awards.
Parliamentary Secretary for Education Gareth Ward congratulated UOW Global Enterprises (UOWGE) of Wollongong for winning the Education and Training award, saying it has grown to become one of the world's most successful global providers of higher education.
'Last year, the UOWGE group recorded a fifth consecutive year of record financial results with a 50 per cent increase on profit before tax compared to the previous year, with export revenue for the group totalling $120.5 million,' Mr Ward said.
'UOWGE owns and operates the University of Wollongong in Dubai, UOW College Australia and the UOW College Hong Kong which employ over 1,100 staff globally.
'Together these institutions offer over 100 courses including in higher education, vocational training, English language and professional development programs to 13,000 students annually, with over 5,000 graduates last year.
'UOWGE works in each of its locations to ensure students receive education and training tailored to local requirements and the needs of industry.
'UOWGE continues to enhance UOW's global reputation by delivering international student growth and pathways to the University.'
The Premier’s NSW Export Awards are led by the Export Council of Australia with principal sponsorship by the NSW Government.
