Peter Freedman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, and Lou Freedman, Chief Financial Officer, of RØDE Microphones.

Western Sydney company RØDE Microphones, a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality microphones, has won the 2014 NSW Exporter of the Year Award.

RØDE Microphones also won this year's Manufacturing Export Award and took out the top award in 2012. The Silverwater company has been designing and manufacturing high quality recording microphones for more than 20 years, distributing to more than 90 countries.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Troy Grant said RØDE Microphones was an outstanding example of the innovative NSW businesses successfully competing in the global marketplace.

"I congratulate all of the export award winners – they are our business ambassadors, showing the world the superior goods and services NSW produces," Mr Grant said.

"Congratulations also to Bega Cheese for winning the Regional Exporter Award – for the second year in a row. The company has shown that high quality regional products can easily compete on the international stage.

"NSW exports and private investment account for just over a quarter of our Gross State Product. Last year, NSW goods and services exports were worth $59.3 billion, a slight increase on the previous year."

Mr Grant said the NSW Government was strengthening the State's international business engagement and assisting businesses to win trade and investment deals.

"The NSW Government is expanding the State's representation in priority markets, by appointing trade and investment representatives in China, Japan, India, the United Arab Emirates and the United States," Mr Grant said.

"The presence of these specialists in our priority markets helps NSW exporters take advantage of new opportunities."

The NSW winners of the national categories progress to the 2014 Australian Export Awards, which will be held in Sydney on November 27.
