NSW export heroes recognised

Howard Croker receives his award from the Governor of NSW, Marie Bashir

Two long-time exporters from NSW have been recognised in the  2012 Australian Export Heroes Award.

Howard Croker, who established Croker Oars in 1962, has built his company into the second most prominent oar manufacturer in the world. Croker Oars, a family-run business at Oxley Island near Taree, exports to more than 30 countries and has representatives in more than 24 countries.

Richard Rains is Chief Executive of Sydney-based Sanger Australia which is ranked 844 out of the top 2,000 companies in Australia. Established as a meat export trading company in 1973, Sanger Australia has built an international sales network for Australian meat products.

The Governor of NSW, Marie Bashir, presented the seven Australian Export Heroes Awards in Sydney recently.

The awards, organised by the Australian Institute of Export, recognise individuals who have built their companies into international success stories and profiled Australia's industry capabilities around the world.
