National showcase for NSW manufacturing
13 May 2014
The NSW Government is putting the spotlight on some of the best of the State's manufacturing industry at this year's National Manufacturing Week exhibition at Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park from 13-16 May.
NSW is the nation's manufacturing powerhouse, responsible for around a third of Australia's total manufacturing output.
The State's $35 billion manufacturing industry includes some of the world's most innovative and globally competitive manufacturing companies, with world-class strengths in design, research, logistics and information/communications technology.
Manufacturing is the fifth largest employer in NSW, offering a diverse range of exciting career opportunities. Against the background of an increasingly tough and highly competitive global environment, businesses in the sector are investing in the future, spending some $1.3 billion each year on research and development.
NSW Trade & Investment is supporting a number of manufacturing companies from around the State to showcase their products at National Manufacturing Week, which is expected to attract more than 8000 delegates this year.
Six innovative NSW companies and the NSW Business Chamber will be featured on the NSW Trade & Investment Stand at the event which also provides the backdrop for some fresh perspectives on the State's diverse manufacturing sector.
NSW manufacturing companies RØDE Microphones, Croker Oars and The Byron Group are featured in three new videos which demonstrate the manufacturing sector's diversity and innovative capability.
