More market opportunities for exporters

Export-ready NSW companies can grow their international markets by taking part in NSW Trade & Investment's program of trade missions and exhibitions.

The 2011-12 calendar of missions and exhibitions targets growing markets and industry sectors in which NSW is internationally competitive. The program aims to increase the number of companies exporting from NSW, boost export sales of participating companies and promote NSW as an investment destination.

The program, which includes nine trade missions and seven international exhibitions, targets the growing economies of China and India, plus emerging markets in the Middle East. Also on the calendar are Brazil, Germany, Singapore and Japan.

It focuses on NSW's strengths in nine sectors, including environmental services, medical technology, food and wine, innovative technologies and sports services.

NSW Trade & Investment export specialists lead the missions and exhibitions to provide on-the-ground advice and support – they often assist with commercial negotiations, make business introductions tailored to individual participants and organise site visits and networking events.

Businesses that take part in the missions and exhibitions can assess their prospects in a target market, learn more about the market and meet potential agents, partners, customers and investors.

NSW Trade & Investment also has a team of 10 export advisers located across the State and other business development managers available to help companies that are interested in exporting.
