Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres has urged NSW exporters to seek recognition for their hard work by entering the 2015 Premier's NSW Export Awards.

"Our exporters make a significant contribution to the State economy and with Australia recently securing free trade agreements with South Korea, Japan and China, we expect to see more export opportunities open up," Mr Ayres said.

In 2013-14, NSW goods and services exports generated $59.9 billion in revenue (or 12.2 per cent of gross state product). NSW merchandise exports were valued at $36.6 billion and service exports at $23.3 billion.

About the 2015 Premier's NSW Export Awards

The Awards is an annual program which aims to recognise excellence in the export of goods and services by NSW business and are open to all NSW exporters regardless of size.

  • Previous Export Award winners include Rode Microphones, the Wiggles and SunRice.
  • NSW Trade & Investment is the major sponsor of the awards, which is managed by the Export Council of Australia.
  • Entries close on August 14, and winners will be announced in Sydney on October 28.
