The Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) assists the Aboriginal community within its boundaries in matters relating to housing, health, legal and employment issues and works to support, promote and protect the culture and heritage of Aboriginal people.
Trangie LALC is situated within the Central region of NSW and is an elected representative for the Aboriginal people within its boundaries.
Its primary function is to acquire, manage, protect and control land within its boundaries as well as protect and promote awareness of the culture and heritage of all Aboriginal persons.
The Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council have an asset holding of 14 rental properties, two office buildings and four vacant blocks of land.
The rental properties are leased to members of the Aboriginal Land Council and managed locally by the Land Council.
Trangie LALC works within the guidelines of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, together with their Community Land and Business Plan, developed in 2008.
