The Yarning Circle owns the licensing rights to the ‘Let’s have a Yarn’ program that provides people with contemporary learning experiences, based on traditional methods in a structured learning environment. This program allows for individuals to recall and tell stories from their own experiences, drawing on the use of yarning circles, story-telling techniques and oral communication skills.

The ‘Let’s have a Yarn’ program is a communication tool to assist people in sharing their voice and experiences in a structured learning environment. This is done by using traditional Aboriginal story-telling and incorporating oral communication techniques, such as one voice at a time and turn taking.

Aboriginal culture has a base of oral communication. Today, many Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people feel comfortable with this communication process.

This program draws on these traditional story telling skills to provide a pathway for participants to express themselves comfortably in contemporary society.

To purchase or enquire about the program, you can contact Lee Townsend by email, phone or fax.
