Mindaribba Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLALC) is one of 119 Local Aboriginal Land Councils throughout New South Wales. We are based in Metford, about 165 kilometres north-west of Sydney within the mid Hunter region. Our region shares the same area as Maitland and Cessnock City Councils. Other councils within our boundaries include Singleton, Dungog and Port Stephens. Our centre is the local hub for our Aboriginal community. We provide a wide range of services across housing, training, employment, health, learning and wellbeing.
Our on-site preschool, health clinic, education centre, gymnasium and counselling services are available at no cost for our community.
We also have an excellent conference room and are developing the Henry Bolt Museum which will be open to the public.
We are able to provide these essential services through our extensive land acquisition and management program.
