Tech teams gather for NSW Mobile Government pitching and networking event
8 December 2011
The NSW Government hosted an industry networking and pitching event on 8 December for its Collaborative Solutions – Mobile Government program.
The program will provide up to $1 million to help consortiums develop new mobile solutions for the public sector.
The industry networking and pitching event, with over 150 registrants, was designed to facilitate introductions, the exchange of ideas, and assist the formation of working consortiums.
It featured 24 pitches by industry and government representatives to help participants identify potential opportunities and project partners.
The Collaborative Solutions – Mobile Government program is designed to help develop new-to-market and significantly innovative mobile solutions that have significant potential for commercial success, job creation, and exports.
These new solutions will be matched and trialled during their development within NSW Trade & Investment, which spans activities including economic development, primary industries, tourism and arts.
The Government's funding support will help consortiums develop solutions that not only help build the State's digital economy but also improve the effectiveness of government services.
This will support growth in our ICT sector whole driving innovation, service and productivity improvements in NSW Government agencies.
Applications for the Collaborative Solutions – Mobile Government program opened on 17 November with submissions closing at 12 noon on 29 February, 2012.
Proposals will then be short-listed by an evaluation panel and then subjected to a further presentation session to determine successful applications, which will be awarded in April 2012.
