The NSW Government will represent 12 NSW defence industry companies at Australia’s premier land defence expo Land Forces 2016, in Adelaide 6-8 September.

Twelve NSW defence industry companies are gearing up to show their expertise to the world at Land Forces 2016, Australia’s premier land defence expo, in Adelaide 6-8 September.

The companies which will be represented on the NSW Government’s stand range from specialist software developers, drone manufacturers, component testing, to academia and business cooperatives with investment in the defence sector.

The NSW Government presence at Land Forces 2016 underlines a commitment to work closely with industry to support companies to win new contracts and create and support defence and related defence industry jobs.

The biennial event is a major opportunity to promote the State’s $5 billion defence industry, which includes companies with strengths such as robotics, engineering, ICT, electronics and surveillance, cyber security and space.

NSW is Australia’s most diversified defence State; home to more than 80 of Australia’s defence bases and establishments and nearly 30 per cent of the nation’s military and civilian personnel.

Industries participating at Land Forces are keen to be part of the global supply chain for major defence projects including the successful fulfilment of initiatives announced in the recent $195 billion Australian Government Defence White Paper.

The White Paper’s strong focus on innovative and advanced defence technology is great news for NSW, home to world-leading research and development centres to support the defence industry in future technology requirements.
