Digital Farmers Market Brings Fresh Opportunities
20 March 2015
A digital farmers market is expected to open up new business opportunities for regional producers. The Sustainable Agriculture and Gardening Eurobodalla (SAGE) e-market platform allows local businesses to use technology to raise the profile of their products and foster closer collaboration across local supply chains.
The development of the new online resource for local producers means they can expand their customer base to create new sales opportunities, connect to a larger emerging food network and get local products into other regions in NSW and metropolitan markets.
The SAGE initiative also has the potential to act as a template for primary producers across NSW to collaborate and advance existing supply chains to much larger markets.
Supported by NSW Trade & Investment
SAGE developed the new e-commerce site with the support of NSW Trade & Investment's Supply Chain Accelerator pilot program.
The Supply Chain Accelerator pilot program provides funding to projects that encourage NSW businesses to work together, innovate and build the skills they need to access major opportunities.
