2018/19 Public Reserves Management Funds Program open
7 February 2018
The NSW Government has announced $17 million is now available for Crown reserve trusts through the latest round of the Public Reserve Management Funds Program, which is now open.
Reserve trust managers are encouraged to apply for funds to maintain, protect and improve Crown reserves for the entire community. Crown reserves include local parks, community halls, regional showgrounds and holiday parks. These spaces are vital to the cultural, sporting, economic and recreational life of communities across NSW.
Applications are invited for funds to support a range of activities, including repairs and maintenance, pest and weed control, new recreational infrastructure and environmental initiatives.
Demand for funding is highly competitive and trust managers are encouraged to carefully check their eligibility before applying. In 2017/18 the PRMF program supported around 440 projects across NSW, from over 770 applications.
Last year’s PRMF round saw $2.5 million go towards improvements for 38 showgrounds, $5.85 million for 98 local parks and reserves, and almost $1.75 million for programs to tackle feral pests and weeds.
Applications for the 2018/19 Public Reserves Management Fund Program will open from Monday 5 February and close Friday 9 March 2018.
Information on how to apply will be available on the Department of Industry—Lands website.
