Port Kembla Community Investment Fund
The New South Wales Government has established the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund (PKCIF) as an ongoing program to fund projects that activate, enhance and build community amenity for Port Kembla. It was launched by Gareth Ward, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast at Port Kembla on the 8 March 2016.
The PKCIF program receives an annual allocation from the NSW Government and is linked to the long term leasing arrangement of Port Kembla. The PKCIF will be delivered through successive funding rounds.
Round 1 successful projects announced
The successful projects for Round 1 of PKCIF were announced by the Gareth Ward, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast and the Wollongong Lord Mayor, Gordon Bradbery at Port Kembla on the 26 August 2016.

A total of 20 Round 1 applications for funding were received for environmental, public infrastructure and precinct activation projects. The Round was oversubscribed with applications received requesting in excess of the $2.0 million (GST exclusive) available.
Two projects were subsequently withdrawn as being ineligible. The PKCIF Evaluation Panel assessed and ranked the remaining 18 projects against the program criteria and 14 were approved by the Minister for Regional Development for funding.
