US food and wine authority The Daily Meal to showcase NSW products

The best of Sydney and NSW regional produce will be showcased to millions by internationally renowned, USA-based food and wine authority, The Daily Meal.

The initiative is part of a new partnership with Destination NSW and Tourism Australia.

Great exposure for NSW food and wine

The partnership with Daily Meal will provide invaluable exposure for NSW food and wine. With NSW food and wine content, including videos and images, to be shared on The Daily Meal website. In September the website had 9 million visitors.

The Daily Meal is one of the world's leading websites, which covers food and drink topics through articles, videos, and special reports.

The Daily Meal visiting Sydney and the Hunter Valley

The Daily Meal's Editorial Director, Colman Andrews and renowned US Chef Jonathan Waxman will also travel to NSW to experience key Sydney restaurants and to visit the Hunter Valley.

The pair will experience the very best food and produce that Sydney and the Hunter Valley have to offer, visiting the many world renowned restaurants, wineries and producers located in these regions.

Growing demand for NSW's agriculture and food products

There is a growing domestic and international demand for NSW's agriculture and food products.

Locally, food retailing is the biggest driver of growth in NSW's retail industry. In 2013-14, annual food retail turnover (including supermarkets, grocery stores, liquor stores, cafes, restaurants, and takeaway food services) was valued at more than $45 billion.
