Illawarra tourism operators to learn how to attract new customers online

A new workshop series beginning on May 4 will help tourism operators in the Wollongong and Shellharbour areas learn how to attract more visitors through using social media.

The workshops, to be delivered by Todd Wright from threesides, will offer tourism operators the opportunity to learn more about using social media to generate new business.

The workshop series is presented by the NSW Office of Trade, Business and Industry in partnership with Tourism Wollongong and Tourism Shellharbour. Workshop participants are expected to attend all three workshops in their area.

The workshop schedule:
Wollongong

  • 4 May –Social Media start up
  • 1 June – Social Media Marketing
  • 13 July – Social Media Management

Shellharbour

  • 5 May – Social Media start up
  • 2 June – Social Media Marketing
  • 14 July – Social Media Management

The Get Started – Social Media start up workshop will cover the basics; how to set up social media sites and how to use them to promote your business.

The Get Going - Social Media Marketing workshop will take you further on your social media journey and provide information on how to use tools such as Facebook, Twitter and blogging. The Get Smart – Social Media Management workshop will help you to extend the value of your efforts using your social media presence and activities.

This will be the second time this popular workshops series has been delivered in the Illawarra region. Numbers are limited and it is vital that you register.
