Destination NSW

Led by CEO Sandra Chipchase, Destination NSW is responsible for devising and implementing strategies to grow the state’s visitor economy. Our focus is on driving tourism and acquiring and developing major sporting and cultural events for Sydney and Regional NSW. In addition, Destination NSW is the major investor in Business Events Sydney, with the aim of securing more international conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions for Sydney and regional NSW.

Destination NSW’s divisional responsibilities include the functions formerly carried out by Tourism NSW, Events NSW and the Homebush Motor Racing Authority.

The organisation works in conjunction with existing bodies such as Business Events Sydney and Regional Tourism Organisations and will implement the approved strategies developed by the Visitor Economy Taskforce.

  • Sport and strategic events

  • Communications.

The Destination NSW Board is accountable for the operations of the organisation and the strategies, plans and actions which are implemented to achieve its goals.

Office of Sport

Led by Matt Miller, the Office of Sport works with key sector partners to develop a vibrant sport and active recreation sector that enhances the lives of people in NSW.

The Office of Sport is responsible for planning, managing and delivering high-quality venues, facilities, sport and active recreation development programs, high-performance sport, sports integrity and safety. It is also the driver for NSW sport policy and strategy, the formation and dissemination of insights and information, and the promotion of partnerships.

Local Land Services

Local Land Services (LLS), launched in January 2014, delivers quality, customer-focused services to farmers, landholders and the community across rural and regional NSW.

LLS brings together agricultural production advice, biosecurity, natural resource management and emergency management into a single organisation.

Importantly, LLS has a local focus. It is run by local people, employs local people like vets, rangers, livestock, agronomy and natural resource management advisors, and focuses on local issues and the delivery of quality services in your region.
